Mark Wahlberg expressed openness to a future AI likeness in a TechCrunch Disrupt interview. His reported comments describe possibilities and preferences, rather than an announcement that a clone has been produced.
What the Mark Wahlberg AI likeness comments establish
TechCrunch reports that Wahlberg had not visited the CAA Vault scanning facility when asked about it. He said he would be interested and discussed the possibility of children or grandchildren controlling his likeness. The report supports describing his interest; it does not establish that a scan, digital replica or rights agreement already exists.

Enhancing a production is a different use
In the same interview he discussed potentially using AI to enhance a stadium setting in a Pete Rose biopic. He cautioned against generating a script and dispensing with real actors. Those remarks concern his preferred uses of technology, rather than evidence of what every filmmaker is doing or a measured rate of actor replacement.

UK policy questions do not settle a private agreement
The UK government’s March 2026 copyright and AI report discusses digital replicas and the absence of a general UK personality right. Protection may instead involve existing rights and other legal routes in particular circumstances. That policy discussion does not establish that Wahlberg’s identity is itself protected by copyright or that his family automatically holds a general right over every possible future AI use.
